Heat Transfer Paper for light colored fabrics
FOR INK JET PRINTERS
Cottonmate Light Heat Transfer Papers are designed for the heat transfer of photos and
images using ink jet printers to light colored T-shirts, sweatshirts, mouse pads, coasters,
puzzles and leather goods. Choose garments that have a tight weave. This is particularly
important when transferring to sweatshirts.

Printing.
1. Mirror the image
2. Load the paper into the printer so that the image will appear on the coated side of the paper.
3. Trim away the unprinted areas of the transfer if desired.

Transferring.
Commercial heat Press only (NO HAND IRON)

1. Place the transfer on top of the garment with the image side down.
2. Press 30 seconds at 375 using heavy pressure. 390 for sublimation inks.
3. Remove paper while hot.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
Turn garment inside out and wash in cold water using a mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Dry on low heat setting. Do not
iron directly on the transferred area.

STORAGE AND HANDLING OF Cottonmate Light
Store in a cool, dry area and do not remove from carton or poly bag until you are ready to use.

IMPORTANT
We thoroughly test each of our products on various substrates using different transfer equipment. However, it is
impossible for us to duplicate all variables using all substrates and transfer equipment. Therefore, it is essential that you
test the paper prior to production using your equipment, methods, and substrate material. Heat presses vary in accuracy.
Conduct tests to determine the best time and temperature to use with your equipment. Please keep in mind that the
Seller's and Manufacture's maximum obligation shall be to replace any paper that has proven to be defective. Neither the
Seller nor the Manufacturer shall be liable for any injury, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to
use this paper.

1. Printing Your Transfer
Reverse your image before printing,

Fan the paper on all four sides before placing in the printer.  Place the paper in the print tray with the printable surface (blank side) loaded correctly for your printer. After printing, trim away unprinted area around your image.

2. Using Heat Press
-Place garment onto press pad
-Place transfer (print side down) onto the garment
-Press at 375F for 25-30 seconds. 390 for Sublimation inks
Remove the paper while hot for a satin finish or peel COLD for a glossy finish.

3. Washing Instructions
- Wash garment separately from others (first time only)
- Turn garment inside out and machine wash on cold
- Use color safe detergent, No bleach
- Remove promptly from the washer.
- Color may bleed if left too long in the washer.
-Tumble dry low. Add towels to improve drying.

Cottonmate Dark for Colored T-shirts

Important: For best results, use
100% cotton t-shirts, as the dye in
a 50/50 blend shirt, may bleed back
into the image after transferring.

1. Printing Your Transfer
- Select your image (do NOT reverse)
- Fan the paper all four sides before placing in the printer. Place the paper in the print tray with the printable surface (blank side) loaded correctly for your printer.
- After printing, trim away unprinted area around your image.

2. Using Heat Press
- Preheat press to 375 F.   390 for Sublimation inks.
- Place the garment onto press pad.
- Remove liner from back of printed transfer
- Place printed transfer onto the garment with the print side up and the parchment
  paper on top of the transfer paper.
- Press at 375* F.   390* F for 20 seconds for sublimation inks.
- Transfer only to 100% cotton for sublimation transfers
- Let cool for 1-2 minutes before peeling parchment paper.

3. Washing and Drying Instructions
- Turn the T-shirt inside out and wash on cold setting. DO not use HOT water when washing.
- Use mild detergent for best results and DO NOT use fabric softeners.
- DO NOT use bleach. Remove promptly from the washer, as colors may bleed
   if left too long in the washer.
- Dry on the LOWEST temperature setting. Add towels to improve drying.
- DO NOT use fabric softener sheets when drying
  Do not stretch the transferred image or the t-shirt as this may cause cracking to occur.

Cottonmate Dark: New and Improved

Designed for the inkjet heat transfer printing of photos and images to dark
colored T-shirts, sweatshirts, mouse pads, puzzles and leather goods. This
product can be die-cut or kiss-cut and moved with tape.

COMMERCIAL PRESS INSTRUCTIONS

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Print right reading image on the coated side of the paper. (NO mirroring/reversing of the image).
2. Trim away the unprinted areas of the transfer.
3. Peel the paper backing from the transfer film.

PRE-TRANSFERRING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the substrate by ensuring the surface is clean, dry and wrinkle free.

TRANSFERRING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place image on top of garment with image facing up (right reading to you).
2. Completely cover the image with ironing sheet.
3. Press 30 seconds @ 350°F using medium pressure.
4. Peel away ironing sheet once cold in a smooth even motion.
5. For best “hand”, stretch the garment.


WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: Turn garment inside out and wash in cold water using a mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Dry on low-heat setting. Do not iron directly on the transferred area.
IMPORTANT: Heat presses vary in accuracy. If you are unsure of the press temperature use a infared gun to test the press for accurate temperatures.

HAND IRONING INSTRUCTIONS
PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Print right reading image on the coated side of the paper (NO mirroring/reversing of the image).
2. Trim away the unprinted areas of the transfer.
3. Peel the paper backing from the transfer film.
PRE-TRANSFERRING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat iron to highest setting – do NOT use steam (empty all water).
2. Iron on a SMOOTH HARD surface; do NOT use an ironing board.
3. Place a pillowcase on the surface and iron the pillowcase removing any wrinkles.
4. Place substrate on pillowcase and iron it to remove wrinkles.
TRANSFERRING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place image on top of garment with image facing up (right reading to you).
2. Completely cover the image with ironing sheet.
3. Using 2 hands, using heavy pressure slide the iron up and down (vertically) over the entire image
for 90 seconds, then repeat going from left to right (horizontally) for 90 seconds.
4. Peel the ironing sheet off the image approximately 2 minutes after completion of ironing.
*For smaller transfers one-half or less, the ironing time is reduced to ironing vertically 45 seconds and horizontally 45 seconds. If the transfer area is smaller than the iron, iron for 30 seconds with heavy pressure.
